What to do during the lab-time?

• The lab-time has the purpose of practicing with the topics that are discussed during the lecture-time.

What to work on during the lab-time?

• Work on practice exercises from the handbook ( course kit ) and on those that may occasionally be posted on this 1560 web site.

Why?

• practice-practice-practice!!!  (is essential for learning pretty much anything and is especially true for this course). Besides ....

  • periodically, there will be handing-in some of these practice exercises during the course, for a total of up to 20% of your course grade.

  • periodically, there will be 'LabTests', i.e. tests that will take place during lab sessions. These tests will involve writing MAPLE code. The total of those tests will amount for up to 15% of your course grade.

When would I have to hand-in the exercises that I practiced during the lab-time ?

• the 1st set of exercises (PE01) to be handed-in the week of Feb 27.

• the 2nd set of exercises (PE02) to be handed-in the week of Mar 19. 

How to hand-in the PE (PE01, PE02) ?

• give your PE to the TA who is in the lab by the end of the lab session of the corresponding lab section (Lab01, Lab02, Lab03). (signature and student ID card would be required for confirmation).

When are the LabTests?

• the 1st LabTest (LT01) is during the week of Jan 30 (during each student's Lab section)

• the 2nd LabTest (LT02) is during the week of Mar 5 (during each student's Lab section).
