Chapter
7:
Multiple Access to a Satellite
Here is
the work-script for chapter 7 (slides)
6 December 2021
We started
on Chapter 7 and learned about single access and multiple
access. For multiple access the footprint of a satellite is
important. Click
here for examples for Anik F1 and other satellites and
the associated eirp contours. With the eirp values the
corresponding earth station antenna sizes are also given. We
qualitatively described FDMA, TDMA and CDMA. These acronyms
describe different features of the satellite communications
traffic. We talkes about advantages and disadvantages and how
their aspects are related to the [C/N] ratio. And that is
where this course ended. Good luck to you all with the final
exam.
