woyzeck, presentations

In terms of new forms of collaboration, the fugue project is an interesting case study (artists, scientists and audio engineers working together on an interactive immune system from different parts of the world).
In relation to to collaborative art/science projects, David Rockeby’s work, which we looked at in our first week, is really relevant.
If anyone is interested in Final Fantasy music, they should check out the Final Fantasy Symphoney site.
Speaking of music, ‘we make money not art’ has an interesting article about world scratching – the idea that the world is like a giant record player that we should scratch, with our satellite systems!
In anticipation of future discussions on mobile games, we should take a look at the GPS Tron.

Also, thanks for the presentations yesterday! I learnt a lot.
This project looks really interesting Rebecca! Unfortunately, I know little Georg Buechner’s Woyzec or any of his other work (aside from what you briefly mentioned a few weeks ago) or why it should be interactive but I’m intrigued by the concept drawing. I was also wondering where the article on virtual therapy that was brought in to class might be available. Cheers.

Hey Andrew! Thanks for you interest! If you want to know more about my Woyzeck project and why it’s well suited to augmented reality, you can read about that in more detail in the post of my proposal on the blog. In terms of a dramaturgical analysis of Buechner’s original play from the 1800s, or a brief overview of Buechner’s body of work, that information is in my thesis and not this demo. But I would be happy to send that on to you if you want. Let me know if you have any questions of ideas about the project.
