Dr Christina Louise Smith
About me
I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Centre for Research in Earth and Space Sciences at York University, Canada, working for Prof. John Moores on studies of the atmospheres of Mars and Titan.
I completed my Undergraduate MPhys in Physics with Astrophysics and subsequently my PhD in Astrophysics, specialising in spectroscopic studies of evolved stars and planetary nebulae, at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. Before beginning my current position as a post-doctoral fellow, I spent six months as a Student Enhancement Program (STEP) Fellow at post-doctoral level at the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics, University of Manchester.
Current and past research interests
Current research projects include radiative transfer studies of the Martian atmosphere and imaging studies of the atmosphere of Titan. Previous research projects include abundance analyses of evolved stars and planetary nebulae, maser studies and detailed radiative transfer of a carbon-rich AGB star.
