Environmental Arts and Justice (BES)
Choose a degree that centres on solutions for a just and equitable world. Address global environmental challenges through political, philosophical, artistic, cultural and educational theory and practice. Through creativity, collaboration, critical analysis, and hands-on community engagement, learn how we can envision and realize a sustainable future.

Learn how climate change, population growth, biophysical contaminants and extreme weather events are straining our ecosystems and our lives. Examine the alterations to Earth’s atmosphere, biosphere, water and landforms and gain scientific, technical and analytical skills to create real world solutions to these complex environmental issues.

As a Faculty committed to change, we bring forth bold and diverse thinking, ambitious action and creative solutions to benefit everyone in response our grand global challenges.  

EUC brings together a critical mass of geographers, physical scientists, social scientists, humanities researchers and artists whose innovative, world-renowned research addresses natural, built and social spaces from a global perspective. Using field-based science, policy analysis, critical social theory, planning skills, geomatics, and cultural and arts-based approaches, our researchers drive action to address environmental and urban challenges.

Our 12,000 alumni worldwide are professionals and champions of sustainability and justice work in various roles as environmental educators, urban planners, lawyers, activists, research analysts, social advocates and more. They serve as inspiring mentors and advisors to our current students, who are the future generation of environmental changemakers.
