Study in Israel

To obtain university entrance and scholarship applications, please contact the addresses given below.

All scholarships are open to any full-time York student, who has completed at least one full year at York; they are generally not awarded to students for whom the year in Israel will be their last at York.

For undergraduates, preference will be given to students completing their second year of full-time studies. The academic record of applicants will be given considerable weight. A minimum B GPA average is usually required in order to be considered.

To qualify, students must meet faculty requirements for study abroad, receive approval of their course of study in Israel from their faculty and major department, and be accepted by an Israeli university.

Selection criteria for the scholarships include academic excellence, participation in university life, seriousness of interest, suitability of the host institution's program for your particular degree requirements and, where indicated, proof of financial need.

Application Process

Scholarship applicants must submit:

  1. Application Form (PDF)
  2. A statement of purpose, outlining the projected program of studies in Israel, explaining how that program complements studies at York.
  3. Official transcripts of all university courses taken.
  4. Two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a York faculty member.
  5. For OSOTF scholarships a financial needs statement must also be filed.

Please note that a personal interview may be required.
