Ode to Julie Magaret Cameron

The series Ode to Julia Margaret Cameron is based on a contemporary and layered reading of a nineteenth century photograph titled “Mountain Nymph, Sweet Liberty” taken by Cameron in 1866.

The series embraces the artistic pleasure in photographing the work of another photographer, while at the same time creating an alternative rendition and reading of it, such that the original is both embraced and displaced.  These photographs were originally exhibited at G+ Galleries during Toronto’s 2008 Contact Photography Festival.
