Dora Apel
, is writing a book that deals with questions of historical memory and postwar identity in contemporary visual representations and debates about the Holocaust. She has also written about imagery of the First World War in Germany, addressing issues of art and politics, gender, and ethnic and national identity. She is the W. Hawkins Ferry Chair in Twentieth Century Art in the Department of Art and Art History at Wayne State University in Detroit.
