Vijay Prashad, teaches in the departments of history at Cornell University and Syracuse University. He earned his PhD at the University of Chicago in 1994. Prashad is currently working on a project that responds to the idea of Western Marxism: he is making theory out of the praxis of 'Eastern Communism'. Prashad is a member of the Young Communist League.
