YORK UNIVERSITY, SENECA COLLEGE TO SIGN AGREEMENT, LAUNCHING 1ST JOINT THREE-YEAR UNIVERSITY DEGREE/COLLEGE DIPLOMA

WHAT:
Official signing of joint agreement between Seneca College and York University.
The agreement will provide students with the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree and a General Arts and Science diploma in just three years.

WHEN:
Wednesday, January 7, 1998, 10 a.m.

WHERE:
The Senecentre, Seneca College Newnham Campus, Parking lot 4 (show advisory or media credentials for free parking)
1750 Finch Ave. East (Finch Ave. And Hwy. 404)

The agreement is the latest in a series of innovative joint programs developed by the Faculty of Arts at York University and Seneca College. This one is the first to facilitate a flow of students from the college to the university. Once accepted into the joint program, students can complete a university degree and a college diploma in just three years. In this program, students spend their first two years at Seneca and take a York summer course after each of those years, followed by the third and final year spent entirely at York.

These programs have been successful, both in terms of student demand and employment success, earning York and Seneca a reputation for leading the way in college-university co-operation.
