"A Legislated Approach to the Study of Organized Crime"

*Blakey served on the 1966-67 United States President's Commission for Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice. Key responsibility for drafting the US Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Statute. Advised Canadian officials during debate leading up to drafting of Canadian "Proceeds of Crime" legislation.

Prof. William C. Gilmore, Head of Graduate School of Law, U. of Edinburgh
"International Attempts to Combat Organized Crime"

*Gilmore served as Assistant Director of Legal Division of Commonwealth Secretariat and Head of the Commercial Crime Unit. A scientific expert in the Council of Europe, he has written extensively on money laundering and organized crime.

Dr. Margaret Beare, Director, The Nathanson Centre
"National and International Objectives of the Nathanson Centre"

*Beare, author of Criminal Conspiracies: Organized Crime in Canada (1996), is a Professor of Sociology at York U. Eleven years in police research and policy development for federal department of the Solicitor General, two as Director of Police Policy and Research Division. Lectured, researched and consulted internationally. First Director of the Nathanson Centre.
