YORK U. SEEKS SUPPORT FOR SUBWAY FROM MAYORALTY CANDIDATES

Dawn Palin, Interim President, York Federation of Students
WHAT:
President Marsden, Mayor Hall, YFS President Palin (and students) share subway and bus ride to York University where they will issue statements and take questions from reporters.

8 AM Meet at Collector's level, TTC portion of Union Station, for departure from northbound Spadina line platform (one level below collector's level)
8:35 AM (approximately) Arrive Downsview Station
8:40 AM (approximately) Take 106 Express Bus
9:00 AM (approximately) Arrive York University, disembark at TTC 106E bus stop in front of main entrance to York Lanes, 80 York Blvd.
9:05 AM Remarks by President Marsden, Mayor Hall and YFS President
9:30 AM Questions from reporters
WHY:
To discuss the public transportation needs of the thousands of students, staff and faculty who travel to York University daily, and to seek support for a subway to York University from the mayoralty candidates for the new City of Toronto. Mayoralty candidate and North York Mayor Mel Lastman will make a similar trip to York University later this month.
Please note: Reporters interested in riding the subway and bus with Mayor Hall and President Marsden should meet at the collectors' level just before 8 a.m. Tokens will be provided.
