MEDIA ADVISORY TORONTO, November 17, 1997 -- On Thursday, November 20 at 7:30 a.m., York University President Dr. Lorna Marsden will speak at a breakfast hosted by the York Business Alliance. In a talk entitled "Community, Commerce, and Campus: A Winning Collaboration," Marsden will discuss why it is more important than ever before that business, academia and the community share with each other their expertise and experiences to foster economic and social renewal. The York Business Alliance is dedicated to raising scholarship funds for first-year students with a record of academic excellence, and to connecting dynamic GTA businesses with each other as well as with York University. The breakfast runs from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at The Blade & Firkin restaurant at York University's Ice Gardens. The Ice Gardens at York University are located across the road from Black Creek Pioneer Village on Murray Ross Parkway, south of Steeles Avenue, in North York. Parking is free when you get your ticket stamped at the event.
