Weaknesses Although Gray provides a strong understanding of her research, some weaknesses are present in her study. She neglects the importance of triangulation in supporting her ethnographic research methods. She uses interviews as the only means of collecting data. The use of surveys was only to help her find subjects for the study. Although it is recognized that Gray is a standpoint feminist, she generalizes her findings for all middle-class women rather than indicating that the findings stand for middle class women in one particular location (West Yorkshire). Gray also chooses a small group of women to represent the middle class. As well, in the beginning of her study, she places a great emphasis on domestic social and cultural context, but her conclusion is vague when discussing cultural findings. |
