Stewart-Millar and Feminism
Through her work, Millar cannot be identified as a particular type of feminist. Some of her work reflects the ideas of social feminism. Social feminism tends to deal with capitalism and socialism. It can be argued that "Wired" magazine is a form of capitalism because it is specifically catered to rich white males. In capitalism's past, there has been a power struggle between men and women. Capitalism excludes not only the lower social classes but also women. "Wired" illustrates the same ideas. Millar does exactly this through her research. She asks questions such as, are women a part of this new digital era? She looks into the experiences of the past to understand why women were never included in this field to begin with and what women will have to do to be a part of the future of the digital culture, if that is possible.
