The following four panels show the 2000 UTC (1500 LST) 500 m positive
vertical motion (e-01 m/s) for increasing values of lake surface temperature.
The considerable convective activity over eastern Lake Erie for the +20K
case is due to the greatly enhanced instability associated with the increase
in air temperature over the lake.
