Guide for Presentations

1.             Hand in to the Chair of your session the name of your author and the title, publisher, and date of the work on which you are reporting.

2.             Give the Chair a list of those on your team, first and last names please, with each member’s current major and the name of the school whence each member came to York.

3.             Give to the Chair the name of the member who will be reading your report.

4.             Please be aware that you will always be reading much faster than you think. Readers should rehearse aloud in front of their group before hand.

5.             Please write the bibliographical information about your book or article on the board in front of the class so that your classmates can record this information for themselves in anticipation of the next examination.

6.             You are not encouraged to use supplemental gadgetry, but an overhead projector is available as well as the computer;  use them at your peril.  Remember whatever can go wrong will!

7.             Attire yourself professionally.  Your object is to impress the class and a very cantankerous professor that you are worth hearing and worth evaluating highly.    People who look like bums may be convincing.
