    Writing

    Write a response to the above material and post it on the UTAL Dialogue Forum. If you prefer to have a specific task to consider, you might write about one of the following:

    • Choose one or more of the 3M Award winners’ statements and explain how you think the professor does or does not exemplify the conception of teaching that Ramsden describes with his Case 2 and Case 3 examples (pp 16 -18).
    • Describe what you have done in your previous teaching work that fits with each of Ramsden’s three cases.
    • Choose one or more of the 3M Award winners’ statements and explain how you think the professor does or does not exemplify the various dimensions of teaching associated with the teaching inventories.
    • Describe what you have done in your previous teaching work that is consistent or inconsistent with the results you received on the teaching inventories; that is, write about how well you think your past practice has matched with your ideals.
    • Describe what you have learned about yourself from reflecting on any of the material assigned for today.

    Post your response prior to the May 7th class. After the class post a reply to at least two of the other students’ response paper. These replies should be made before the May 12th class.
