If you have a little more time, you might enjoy the following 1947 educational film advising high school teachers on classroom management. It offers a few pieces of good advice perhaps; but I list it more to give a humorous ending to the course than for any other reason.
- Maintaining Classroom Discipline, a 14-minute film produced by McGraw-Hill.
The film was produced as an accompaniment to Raleigh Schorling’s 1940 textbook titled Student Teaching. The library actually has a copy of the 4th edition of this book (LB 2157 A3 S35), which was published in 1964 despite Schorling’s death in 1950. Schorling was the first principal of the University High School at the University of Michigan and a strong advocate for teachers as can be seen in this 1946 article in TIME Magazine.
