Dr. Francine Karmali   PhD in Social/Personality

**As of Fall 2018, Francine is a post-doctoral fellow in Liz Page-Gould's research lab.** My primary research focuses on affective and behavioral forecasting in an intergroup context. Specifically, I have been investigating the accuracy of predictions regarding one’s own emotional, behavioral, and physiological reactions to outgroup racism. I have also been examining the role of perceptions of the target, and cognitive control on reactions to outgroup racism. Additionally, I am interested in the effects of stereotype suppression on subsequent stereotype activation and application as well as the factors that motivate attempts to self-regulate unwanted expressions of prejudice. Finally, my research also examines the consequences of attributional ambiguity and stereotype threat on the acquisition of academic self-knowledge among those who are academically stigmatized.
