Invisible Web Search Engines are good for tracking down very specific information such as data and statistics.  And the Libraries' subscription Invisible Web Search Engines are good for tracking down journal articles.  However, for introductory information on a topic, an Invisible Web Search Engine is probably not going to be very useful.
