Deadline: Oct. 15. Communications and Information Technology Ontario (CITO) Request for Proposals CITO supports projects in the areas of (tele)communications, information technology and digital media. The research must be of high relevance to industry. CITO encourages projects which have high relevance to the following areas: * projects which focus on CIT/DM applications in bioinformatics, medical informatics, and electronic commerce; * projects which advance nanotechnology in CIT/DM areas, intelligent sensors and transducers; * projects which address information navigation and management of multimedia knowledge-bases; * as the new software architecture for applications on PDAs/appliances/intelligent sensors/cell phones emerges, a shift similar in importance to that from mainframe to client-server paradigms will result. Projects experimenting with such kinds of new architectures and projects building tools to enable the development of such applications will receive priority; * projects focusing on digital media technologies and tools. Funding is usually between $30,000-$200,000, for one or two years.
