Call for Letters of Intent
The CHSRF has issued a call for letters of intent for research proposals that promote applied health systems research, to enhance its quality and relevance, and to facilitate its use in evidence-based decision making by policy makers and health systems managers. The foundation is soliciting proposals in these three areas: * centralization and aggregation of health services; * continuity of care; and * informed public participation in decision making. The CHSRF has allocated $2.5 million for this competition.

Scotiabank Awards for Excellence in Internationalization
These awards are intended to recognize Canadian universities' achievements in internationalizing their institutions, and to promote awareness of innovative practices being used by the university community. Awards are available in the following categories: * International Student Participation; * University-Private Sector Partnerships; * Curriculum Change; * Faculty Contributions to Internationalization; * Resources for Internationalization Efforts. The awards consist of engraved plaques and cash prizes.

Hannah Institute for the History of Medicine
Various Programs
The Hannah Institute for the History of Medicine supports a wide range of scholarly activities related to the history of medicine and medical education in Canada. Programs administered include: * conference grants to support conferences related to the history of medicine (up to $30,000); * development grants to support well-defined projects, and * visiting professorships to permit an established scholar in the history of medicine to visit a recognized centre in Canada to complement the host institution's activities in the field ($60,000 salary, $1,000 travel award, $1,500 research grant).

Canadian Society for the Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel)
Charpak/Vered Exchange Fellowship
This six- to 12-month fellowship is aimed at promoting interdisciplinary research and exchanges between laboratories in Canada and those of the institute, located in Rehovot, Israel. Eligible applicants are Canadian scientists who wish to join teams involved in the application of the physical or chemical sciences or engineering in biological research. Applicants must be recipients of NSERC Research Grants. The value of the fellowship is $20,000-$25,000.
