Open Programs
The Japan Foundation offers programs that further international mutual understanding through the introduction of Japanese culture overseas and the promotion of cultural exchange between Japan and other countries. The Foundation carries out programs aimed at supporting Japanese Studies, Japanese-language instruction, medical exchange, arts related exchange, exchange of persons through fellowships. Specific programs are: Fellowships; Japanese Language Education Fellowship; Japanese Language Programs for Specialists; Research/Conference/Seminar Grant Program; Library Support Program; Salary Assistance Program for Full-Time Japanese-Language Teachers; Japanese-Language Teaching Materials Donation Program; Training Programs for Teachers of the Japanese Language; Assistance Program for the Development of Japanese-Language Teaching Resources; Publication Assistance Program; Translation Assistance Program; Film Production Support Program; and Exhibition Assistance Program.

Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)
Development Information Program (DIP)
The DIP is aimed at promoting public understanding of international development issues, as well as the important role that Canadians play in developing countries and countries in transition. The program supports a variety of projects including TV and radio productions, magazine articles and newspaper features, exhibits and journalists' exchanges/fora. Specific themes include global health issues, poverty alleviation, private sector development, and children and war.

Bibliographical Society of America
Fellowship Program
The Bibliographical Society of America provides a short-term fellowship (up to twelve months) to support bibliographical inquiry as well as research in the history of the book trades and in publishing history. The fellowship consists of $1,000 stipend/month in support of travel, living, and research expenses.

Rose and Isidore Drench Fellowship
Vivian Lefsky Hort Fellowship
The Rose and Isidore Drench Fellowship supports scholars for up to three months working on some aspect of the Jewish Labor Movement. This is an opportunity to conduct research at the YIVO's Library and Archives. The recipient is expected to present a public paper at YIVO based on the research, and submit a transcript of the paper for possible publication in the YIVO Annual. The Vivian Lefsky Hort Fellowship helps support original research for up to three months in the field of Yiddish Literature. This is an opportunity to conduct research at YIVO's Library and Archives. The recipient is expected to deliver a lecture based on the research and submit a paper for possible publication in the YIVO Annual or YIVO-bleter.
