Bio:
Anita is an Advanced Broadband Enabled Learning (ABEL) Lead and teacher in York Region District School Board. As a physics teacher, Anita engages her students using technology and was awarded the Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence. As an ABEL Lead, she works at the university to support professional learning for educators in Ontario.
Abstract:
Join Anita Drossis to learn how teachers can extend their classroom beyond the classroom walls. Anita uses Moodle for all her classes to help improve student achievement and engage students in their learning. She will demonstrate how she has effectively used Moodle in Math, Science and Physics to engage students through tools such as discussion forums, wikis, video streaming, and online assignments. Emphasis will be placed on how Moodle enables teachers to provide ongoing formative assessment to improve student learning and develop literacy skills.
