Description
This project is based on an assessment on 967 LA&PS students’ generic critical skills (i.e., writing, textual analysis, test writing, time and group management, research giving presentations, and numeracy) conducted in October 2017 (Grayson & Kenedy 2018). In light of the findings the students reported critical skills deficiencies, we propose the development of a web-based programme, readily adaptable to blended and face-to-face delivery, that would remedy students’ generic skill deficiencies. This initiative will contribute to student success, retention, and advance eLearning. With adaptations, the course could meet any specific skill needs of international students. While initially directed to sociology students, the course, comprised of 24 modules, could be modified to meet the needs of other departments, faculties, and, potentially, universities.
