York University provides a wealth of resources to assist educators in developing and implementing eLearning, Experiential Education, Student Experience and Internationalization projects.
The Teaching Commons
The Teaching Commons provides support and professional development for faculty members on effective pedagogy and good practice. Courses on how to create and implement eLearning and Experiential Education are available in a number of formats and may be customized to meet the needs of specific Faculties. The B.O.L.D. team provides assistance to faculty who are interested in creating and implementing fully-online or blended eLearning courses. Staff from both the Teaching Commons and LTS work together to provide support for faculty members.
Learning Technology Services

As a central support unit, LTS works closely with the Teaching Commons and with local Faculty technical support units to coordinate services. LTS services range from individual and project consultation to delivering workshops on implementing technologies into courses (e.g., Adobe Connect, Blog, Lecture Recording, Moodle, Personal Response System (PRS, Clickers), Surveys, Turnitin, Wiki).
York University Libraries
The York University Libraries provide support for faculty members in terms of incorporating eResources (i.e., readings) into their online environments such as Moodle. Librarians also collaborate with faculty to ensure that students have access to online tools that help them learn how to find, evaluate and use information for their course work. The Libraries work together with LTS and the Teaching Commons to provide dynamic, course specific library resources.
