Description
The Las Nubes Program will offer students a richly experiential education living and studying in smallholder farming communities in a southern Costa Rica conservation region, the Alexander Skutch Biological Corridor (ASBC). Incorporating courses open to students in the Lassonde School of Engineering’s Environmental Engineering program as well as the Faculty of Health’s Global Health program, the Semester Abroad will be a unique offering for Ontario students, as no other university in Ontario has an overseas campus specifically for its own students. Eventually, York’s eco-campus will be truly distinctive: a place where York students can take York classes taught by York professors, immersing themselves in a new cultural, social and ecological setting replete with opportunities for engaged and practical forms of learning.
