YorkU student hero ‘excited’ to be torchbearer for Pan Am Games

Pan Am Games torchIn 2013, Tanisha Martinez saved the life of a man bleeding profusely from a stabbing wound. Now, the York University student is one of 3,000 torchbearers slated to carry the Pan Am flame ahead of the 2015 games.

“I never thought that I’d get selected,” a glowing Martinez said on Monday. “But I’m really excited for this opportunity.”
