Ernie Eves is vice-chairman and senior advisor with Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB).
Since joining CSFB in 2001, Eves has focused his energies on impacting Canadian investment banking, equities and fixed income businesses.
Eves was first elected to the Ontario Legislature in 1981 and has been successfully re-elected six times as an MPP. He has extensive legislative experience serving as government house leader from 1995 to 1996. As Ontario's finance minister, he was responsible for a budget of $60 billion and oversaw one of the largest privatizations in Canada. He has held several cabinet-level positions, including community and social services minister and Ontario's first skills development minister.
Before entering public service, Ernie was a partner in the law firm of Green and Eves. Eves was called to the bar in 1972 and appointed Queen's Counsel in 1983.
Eves is Chair of the Ontario Olympic Sports and Waterfront Development Agency and Counsel at Borden Ladner Gervais, LLP. He is a member of the boards of BCE Emergis, Cartesian Capital and the Retirement Residences Real Estate Investment Trust. Ernie is on the board of Justin Eves Foundation, sits on the advisory board of Vince Carter's Foundation—Embassy of Hope and is director of the Woodbine Entertainment Group.
