York University adopted the Shared Accountability & Resource Planning (SHARP) budget model in fiscal 2017-18.
To ensure the alignment of resources with institutional priorities, a key component of the SHARP budget governance at the University is the creation of two Presidential Advisory Councils, namely:
The University Fund Council (UFC) advises the President on the utilization of the central University Fund.
The Budget Council ensures shared services Unit budgets reflect the priorities of the University Academic Plan and facilitates an annual review process for base budget requests.
