Shorter, more frequent, lockdowns could result in fewer COVID cases, York researchers have found

person staring out the windowWhile modelling for the COVID-19 pandemic often takes into account the larger economic influences, models sometimes miss the smaller individual costs of lockdowns that may cause people to stop adhering to the restrictions, researchers at York’s Canadian Centre for Disease Modelling (CCDM have found. Iain Moyles, an assistant professor in the Faculty of Science’s Department of Mathematics and Statistics, led the research team which also included Professor Jane Heffernan and Assistant Professor Jude Kong.
