Working with University Brand & Marketing

University Brand & Marketing (UB&M) leads the University’s visual, written, and technical expression of the brand at the institutional level, creating high impact pan-university advertising campaigns, web optimization strategies and structure, social content campaigns and creation, and tools/templates for the York community to ensure break through.  

As brand stewards, the team plays a key role in supporting Faculties, divisions, units, and campuses across the University to ensure all areas have:

  1. Access to tools/templates and training
  2. Providing strategic advice on projects
  3. Ensuring brand and digital alignment on all outputs

How to work with us:

High profile new identity work, creative design for new look, print publication, video, publication website or large revamp, large social media campaign, signage, photo shoot, advertising campaigns:

1. Involves an external vendor

  • Contact UB&M to initiate project and discuss scope and vendors that are best to use
  • View list of external vendors
  • Fill out creative brief and share with UBM
  • Initiate contact with agency and invite UB&M to kick off meeting
  • Share all drafts and finals or have UB&M involved in each project milestone to ensure brand and/or digital alignment

2. Does not involve vendors

  • Contact UB&M to initiate project and discuss scope and any strategic considerations
  • Share all drafts and finals or have UBM involved with each project milestone to ensure brand and/or digital alignment

  • Low profile edits to existing stuff or creative designs, campaigns, websites, single day social posts, or brand checks.
