Challenge Question
How can financial literacy be taught and learned in the K-12 sector on a more equitable basis?
Partner: RBC on Campus
Project Summary
Help create a generation of students that are financially literate and able to manage their finances adeptly. Upcoming changes to the Ontario Curriculum will focus on addressing young people’s lack of financial literacy. How can it be ensured that all students from all different walks of lives and backgrounds have equitable access to a solid financial education? The research team for this project would investigate contemporary barriers to education that exist within Ontario in terms of race, class, ability, and geography with the intent of proposing practices, policies and initiatives that will ensure regardless of circumstance all Ontario students can receive a comparable financial education.
The research team for this project might be composed of individuals with an interest or specialization in economics, business, education, social work, social studies, communication and media studies, equity studies, Black studies, geography, and urban studies.
