Challenge Question
For a community with a large farming-based property tax space, how can it reimagine its income sources to provide its residents with the best level of service?
Partner: Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville
Project Summary
It is a priority for municipalities to provide its residents with the best level of service. To provide the best level of service a robust property tax base is required, which is often fostered by a strong Industrial, commercial investment (ICI) community. In municipalities with little ICI land and mostly farmland, how can a municipality bring in greater property tax revenue compared to traditional farming?
