The Toronto Star established this award in honour of its Chair, Beland Honderich, to encourage deserving high school students to pursue a university education. If you are in your final year at James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic High School, C.W. Jefferys Secondary School, Emery Collegiate Institute or Westview Centennial Secondary School, the schools will choose you annually. The award includes a summer job at the Toronto Star at the end of your first year.
