CERLAC has appointed a new Associate Director

CERLAC is delighted to announce that Danielle Robinson has been appointed CERLAC Associate Director and Coordinator of the Graduate Diploma in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Danielle Robinson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dance in the School of Arts, Media, Performance, and Design, and is cross-appointed to the Graduate Programs in Theatre Studies and Communication and Culture. She is a dance scholar who researches the cross-cultural movement of Afro-Diasporic popular dances within the Americas. Professor Robinson is currently leading a collaborative, interdisciplinary research project in Bahia, Brazil, that explores samba de roda, a dance and music complex with roots in Afro-Brazilian slave cultures, which was recently recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage.
