The City Institute is providing an opportunity for six PhD students, working on urban issues, to present a 20 minute paper based on your research that addresses the question “What it is that makes this research ‘critical’? This is an opportunity to check in with yourself and to share the ‘what’ or ‘how’ of the critical nature of the scholarship that you do.
Who are we? We are the City Institute at York University – faculty and graduate students who actively engage in critical urban research, a sympathetic audience who looks forward to learning more and providing feedback on your presentation.
Who are you? You are a PhD student at York University whose research falls within the field of urban studies and who may already have a conference paper or are working on one that you would like to have the opportunity to present.
To submit an abstract, or if you have any questions, please contact Claire Major at cmajor@yorku.ca. Please send your name, contact information, a title and 250 word abstract by Monday February 3, 2014.
