Welcome to the webpage for the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) Student Chapter, York University!
AWM is a non-profit organization founded in 1971. It is a leading society for women in the mathematical sciences. Its purpose is to create a community in which women and girls can thrive in their mathematical endeavors and to promote equitable opportunity and treatment of women and others of marginalized genders and gender identities across the mathematical sciences.
There are over a hundred AWM student chapters making waves in the mathematics community. York University is one of them! Membership in York-Student Chapter is open to all York students regardless of gender identity or expression, race, color, religion, age, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability. Among many benefits, York-Student Chapter members will get free AWM membership.
