University life involves many changes, and some of these changes may lead to stressful situations. As university students, we are constantly meeting deadlines, work responsibilities, and family and social obligations. These responsibilities may have negative effects on our health, such as stress. Join us in our Stress Management and Self-Care Session, where you will learn how to manage stress, followed by a mindfulness activity to help you relax and unwind.

Facilitator: Aleeza Qayyum (she/her)

Where does the time go? How much study time is enough? Let’s discuss! Learn more about what time management means and take away practical strategies to help you balance school, work, and life. This session is hosted by Learning Skills Services.

Facilitator: Clayton Rhodes (he/him)

Whether we realize it or not, many of us tend to live our lives from within our own frame of mind without giving much thought to the viewpoints of others. However, when we take the time to consider problems and concepts from different angles, we free ourselves up to consider fresh, original ideas and thoughts. We can assist ourselves in finding new solutions by altering our viewpoint and overcoming obstacles that previously seemed insurmountable.

Being able to see things from other perspectives is one of the keys to success at university.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Explore your individual values
  • Connect with the communications process
  • Practice thinking of ideas from other perspectives

Facilitator: Jennifer Diep (they/them) and Nicole Dimitrova (she/her)

A panel discussion with upper year students. Learn their secrets to success, how to navigate your courses, your program, and find the supports available to you.

Facilitator: Muhammad Abdulhafiz (he/him)

Whether you’ve briefly used LinkedIn at some point before or haven’t heard about it at all, today’s session will get you from nothing to having a presence on LinkedIn.

Facilitators: Chimdinma Ukabiala (she/her), Sawda Azeez (she/her), Akshita Narad (she/her), and Johdeth (Jodie) Dela Cruz (she/her)
