Jennifer is a fourth year student in the Specialized Honours Psychology program. They joined UPSA as a Peer Ambassador two years ago, became the Ambassador Lead the year after that, and are now the Executive Vice President! They are happy to be growing along with the organization, and excited to see where they can take UPSA this year! Outside of UPSA, Jennifer acts as a research assistant for three labs, and is interested in pursuing a career in forensic psychology.

Nicole is currently in her last year of the B.A. Honours Psychology program here at York. She has been a part of UPSA for the past three years where she started off as a Peer Mentor. She loved being able to help first-year students transition into university. Now as the Vice President of Student Success, she is excited to oversee both tutoring and mentoring departments where she will strive to promote accessibility, inclusivity, and engagement. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching tv shows, playing card games and spending time with friends and family.

Nina is a third year Honours Psychology student completing her second degree after graduating in 2016. She is a mature student currently working in finance and balancing both school and full-time work responsibilities. Her goal is to utilize her existing experience and new skills to be involved in the mental health field once she finishes her degree. In her free time she enjoys watching movies, reading and spending time with her dog, family, and friends.

Some of her interests include going to the gym, modelling, and helping friends and peers navigate personal and professional situations. She hopes to work in the field of sports medicine, and next year plans on working as a personal trainer. Alexa wants every student to have an amazing school year!

Emma is a 4th year Health Studies student. She is a Co-President of Student Association of Health Management, Policy, and Informatics (SAHMPI) this year and a SHAY with the Faculty of Health. Outside of her extra-circulars, she teaches English to students in elementary school and does research concerning AI & Equity. Fun fact, Emma is fluent in Russia, in fact English is Emma’s 2nd language, she grew up speaking Russian at home. She loves going to the beach, expanding her rock collection, painting and hanging out with her cat, Peach.

Yosser is a third year student completing her Hons. BA in Psychology. She loves her program, but law and justice is what fuels her most and after graduation she intends on taking everything psychology taught her and applying it to the cases she handles. Yosser is making the most of her undergrad through networking and learning outside of class, and want to ensure other students have the same experience.

Angela is a fourth-year Honours B.A. Psychology student, minoring in human resources management. She started off as a Marketing Peer Ambassador for UPSA during her second year (the start of the pandemic) and made her way up to Marketing Coordinator, and now Vice President of Marketing. Outside of UPSA, Angela wishes to enter a career where she gets to help others deal with their self-esteem and mental health. She is interested in Counselling and Social psychology. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, reading and writing, and watching videos on YouTube.

Akshita’s goal is to help students who don’t feel they belong or who feel lost in their academic life. As university experience can be overwhelming especially if personal circumstances aren’t that good. Her goal is to motivate students to pursue their dreams and create a safe environment for them, where they can feel they belong.

Diana is in her fourth year of the BA specialized Honours Psychology program, hoping to pursue an MA and PhD in clinical-developmental psychology. She is currently a Research at York (RAY) student working with Dr. Lara Pierce, a Student Health Ambassador at York (SHAY), and the Director of Student Governance with the Faculty of Health Student Caucus (FHSC). Outside of academia, Diana loves to sing, sketch and read.

Aleeza is a 4th year Biomedical Science major, and this is her third year working as a Learning Skills Peer. She works in a lab at York where she is trying to find therapeutics for Alzheimer’s disease, and she also works at Starbucks as a Barista. She has learned time management through her several endeavours and is excited to teach others how to master time management as well!

Abigail is a 4th year Specialized Honours Psychology student. She began working for CCSC in 2021 as a PASS leader and is currently a Leadership Coach. She is also a contributing writer and senior editor with the Trauma and Mental Health Report, a Peer Mentor for Writing in Psychology, the Director of Community Relations with the Faculty of Health Student Caucus (FHSC) and was an Orientation Chair with Calumet College Council this past summer.

Emilio is a 4th year Honours Psychology student. He worked with Calumet & Stong Colleges as a PASS leader in 2018, and after taking a year off, he’s come back with the Colleges. While at York he was a Peer Mentor with UPSA , served as a Peer Tutor Coordinator with Calumet & Stong Colleges, has volunteered in many labs within the Psychology Department, and worked as a research student with SickKids Hospital. Now, he looks to continue pursuing his passion of helping others learn how to learn more effectively, and use his broad experiences to help others achieve their goals.

Parmin is a Kinesiology and Health Science student and a member of the LEAD team through her role as one of the Leadership Coaches with Calumet & Stong colleges. She enjoys being involved in leadership and supporting her fellow Faculty of Health students in various roles such as being the Chair of the Faculty of Health Student Caucus (FHSC), an executive member with the Kinesiology and Health Science Student Organization (KAHSSO), a co-project lead for the Undergraduate Health Research Exploration (UHRE) and other roles across campus. In her free time, Parmin enjoys going on long walks and jogs, reading, trying out new recipes and photography!
Clayton Rhodes

Clayton Rhodes is a full-time faculty member at Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. At Durham College, Clayton teaches Creativity: A Personal Understanding, Hockey: The First Century, and a variety of communication courses. As well, Clayton is a member of the college’s creativity community of practice. In 2021, Clayton was the recipient of Durham College’s Faculty Employee Excellence Award.
Outside of the college, Clayton has been a member of several nationally and provincially funded projects for Literacy Northwest, Connect Strategic Alliances, College Sector Committee for Adult Upgrading and Skillplan.
Clayton earned his Honours Bachelor of Arts from York University and his Master of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix. During his spare time, Clayton enjoys bowling, slo-pitch, kayaking, and in-line skating. Clayton’s favourite drink is Arizona Southern-Style Sweet Tea.

Rebecca is the President of the Nursing Student Tutoring, Ambassadorship and Mentorship Program (NSTAMP), a current student in the Nursing program and a York Alum with a degree in Kinesiology & Health Science as well as a certificate in Athletic Therapy. Rebecca is currently the President of the Nursing Students of Ontario with the Registered Nurses of Ontario and holds a seat on the Board of Directors. She is knowledgeable on a number of topics including externships which is a hot topic for many Nursing students.

Chimdinma is an International student from Nigeria and she has been involved with York International as a Global Peer Mentor,, a Community Engagement Volunteer, and now she is part of the Go Global Team. She is a content creator for the York Lions Dance Club and her interests include travelling, creating videos, and watching other content creators.

Besides her interest in supporting students in their leadership journeys, she has a passion for healthcare and health promotion and is currently in the process of getting certified as a Personal Trainer. During her free time, Parisa likes to cook and bake. She also plays the harmonica.
