Taking Care of Your Brain: Study Strategies that Work
Taking Care of Your Brain: Study Strategies that Work – Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 3:00pm - 4:30pm at Stong College 101 (MDR)
University life is busy, and students are often faced with competing priorities. Without a clear study plan many students end up procrastinating, cramming, staying up late, drinking caffeine before bed, and trying to complete too many tasks at once.
This doesn’t have to be you! This workshop will introduce students to three study techniques that will promote academic and personal well-being.
Students will be introduced to the brain’s unconscious assistant (your own personal assistant) to better understand the myths of multitasking, how the Pomodoro technique can help you manage your time, and the importance of sleep. Students will learn how to study smarter, not harder. Throughout this interactive workshop, students will have an opportunity to reflect on their study habits and daily activities and create a schedule that will incorporate the strategies introduced.
Light refreshments will be served. Hope to see you there!
