Congratulations and welcome Professor Mazen Hamadeh. Mazen will assume the role of Head of Stong College for a five-year term 2015-2020 beginning July 1, 2015. Mazen is an Associate Professor in Kinesiology and Health Science, and this year he served as Acting Master of Bethune College. Mazen has a deep commitment to fostering excellence in our students and increasing the quality of their academic and broader life experiences.

Welcome to Stong College, your very own place at York University.
York University may seem large sometimes, but at Stong we can help you feel more connected with your colleagues, Peer Leaders, Fellows and alumni, and we will help you negotiate your way through the many facets of university life.
At Stong, you will find a wide array of extracurricular activities, student clubs , athletics and engaging seminars and lectures. The Stong College Student Government (SCSG) represents you: its voice is your voice at Stong and the university. Stong’s academic and co-curricular Student Success Programs support students through their transition into university life (Orientation and Peer Mentoring), course-specific endeavours (Course Representative Program, Peer-Assisted Study Sessions-PASS and Peer Tutoring), workshops and seminars (Engaged Community), leadership skills development (LEADwith purpose), health-based projects (Agents of Change), community engagement (Indigenous Circle, Alumni and Fellows, close collaboration with Stong College Student Government-SCSG and Faculty of Health academic unit-based student organizations- KAHSSO, NSAY, YUSNMP and 2NA, and multidisciplinary student clubs affiliated with Stong College), and transitioning out of university and pursuing successful careers (Career Exploration). Stong College is also proud to house the Samuel J. Zacks Gallery that mounts regular art shows and events. Go ahead and explore your college.
The Stong College building provides a place to drop in, relax, have a meal, study, and meet other students, faculty and staff. There is something for every taste. You can find part-time employment or volunteer. Ask any one of us.
