Convocation Ceremonies

Taking part in your convocation ceremony is a memorable occasion and we strongly encourage all graduating students to attend and celebrate this milestone with family and friends.

Your ceremony will be determined by the Faculty you will be graduating from as well as your degree and major.

Fall 2024 Convocation: The ceremony schedule will be available on the Convocation website at the end of July. Invitations will be sent via e-mail in early September to those who have applied to graduate or those who are potentially eligible to graduate.

School of Continuing Studies (SCS) graduates: Please contact the SCS events team
for information regarding ceremonies at the following email: scsevent@yorku.ca

All students who are deemed potentially eligible to graduate will receive a formal invitation to RSVP via email 4-6 weeks prior to their convocation ceremony. The RSVP email will contain an RSVP link with more information regarding gown rentals and guest t

Please note that the graduand does not require a guest ticket to attend their convocation. The robe rental confirmation page acts as a student ticket to convocation.

Guest tickets will be available to each graduand after the completion of the RSVP. Each guest requires a ticket to be admitted and each ticket has a barcode that is unique.

Each graduand will be able to claim up to 3 guest tickets.

Children under the age of three (3) do not need a ticket and can accompany an adult, sharing their seat.

Provided that your eligibility is received prior to the printing production deadline for convocation, you will receive the diploma/certificate you are entitled to on the day of your ceremony.

Those unable to attend the convocation ceremonies should refer to the Registrar's Office website to learn more about pick-up dates and location.

To inquire about having your diploma/certificate mailed, please contact diplomas@yorku.ca.
