Fatima Ahmed

LLM Candidate, Osgoode Hall Law School, York University

Research Interests: Fatima Ahmed is a first-generation Pakistani immigrant and a current LLM candidate at Osgoode Hall Law School located in Toronto, Ontario. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of British Columbia and a Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor. Her writing, both fictional and non-fictional, has been published in various online publications and journals. She is the recipient of the Social Justice Fellowship 2019, the Equity and Diversity Award 2020, the JW Whiteside Award 2020, as well as the Harley D Hallett Scholarship 2021. Fatima is interested in immigration and refugee law, human rights law, and the application of intersectional approaches to the law. Fatima’s research involves an analysis of cases decided by the Canadian refugee regime to examine the treatment of refugee claims made by Muslim Women fleeing domestic violence from Islamic countries.
