Abdullah Saleh is a Pediatric General Surgeon at the University of Alberta and is the Director of the Office of Global Surgery. He is the Pediatric Trauma Director at the Stollery Children’s/University of Alberta Hospital and is the Program Director for the Pediatric General Surgery Global Fellowship and the co-Program Director for the Acute Care Global Surgery Fellowship at the University of Alberta. He completed his medical school and General Surgery training at the University of Alberta and his Pediatric Surgery fellowship at McMaster University.
Abdullah is also the co-founder and Chief Executive Director of Innovative Canadians for Change (ICChange), a not-for-profit organization with global programs. He is a serial social entrepreneur and co-founded 3 spin-off social enterprise companies that develop disruptive technologies particularly for vulnerable populations.
His interests include system thinking, design and implementation, technology development and entrepreneurship, ethics in global surgery, human rights development as well as improving access to medical and surgical services to underserved and vulnerable communities.
