As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, 2020 MSF Scientific Days Latin America conference had to be cancelled. As an alternative, a Webinar Series is taking place on February 2021, using selected abstracts from the 2020 edition.

MSF Scientific Days is a series of annual scientific conferences where humanitarian workers, academics, health professionals and other leaders of the scientific and medical-humanitarian community come together to present research and exchange experiences and knowledge.

The webinar series occurring from February 1st to 22nd consists of 4 different sessions titled Migration, Violence/Torture, Environmental Health/Climate Change, and Experimental Interventions for Global Health Issues. Each session will be conducted on a specific date consisting of 2-3 presentations by scholars and practitioners. Dahdaleh Institute members Linn Biorklund Belliveau and Carol Devine will both be presenting in this year’s webinar series. Linn will be presenting in on February 1st discussing “Temporary Measures for Forcibly Displaced People in Transit Countries – Wither Protection and Humanitarian Assistance”. Carol will conduct a webinar on February 8th in which she will discuss “Exploratory methods for integrating Climate Change risks in humanitarian planning: implications for health and migrations in Mexico and Central America” and “Measures to Mitigate-Diagnosing and mitigating MSF’s Environmental Impact: sustainable practices and medical ethics in humanitarian action”.
