Anastassia is a global food system and policy researcher with the School of Global Health at York University, working with Prof. Tarra Penney. Her current work involves investigating the influence of corruption on the global food system and using systems thinking methods in the context of pandemic prevention and global governance. She is interested in health policy, food, and planetary health, specifically relating to understanding how we can transition toward a more sustainable and equitable food system and how governance and power affect public health.

Anastassia completed her MPH at the University of Queensland (UQ), focusing on global health and epidemiology during her studies. Prior to her MPH, Anastassia also obtained her bachelor of biomedical science degree at UQ and completed her honours research project in cardiovascular physiology at Oxford University. She is now motivated to incorporate her micro and macro understanding of health to create meaningful change for health systems, conditions, and outcomes.
