Job Description
The upcoming Planetary Health for a Planetary Emergency Symposium (Friday, November 24, 2023) aims to bring distinguished scholars across various disciplines together to explore effective, equitable climate action that advances health and wellbeing for all, under prevailing systems such as colonialism and capitalism. This full day event will also mark the launch of the Dahdaleh Institute Planetary Health Research Council, supporting a vibrant research community dedicated to planetary health at York University and beyond.
The Dahdaleh Institute seeks two student volunteers to support the event, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. ET.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with event set-up and clean-up
- Manage registration and check-in processes
- Greet and assist event participants in a friendly and professional manner
- Address participant inquiries and resolve issues promptly
- Monitor and maintain event supplies (e.g., catering)
- Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the event space
- Note-taking and record keeping
- Photography and videography
Volunteers will receive a small honorarium for their time and contributions.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate York student. Applicants from diverse programs of study are encouraged. The Dahdaleh Institute welcomes applications from all qualified individuals, including, but not limited to women, persons with disabilities, visible minorities (racialized), Indigenous Peoples and persons of any gender identity and sexual orientation.
