The Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research is delighted to welcome Professor Servet Karabag as a new member, who joins the Institute as a visiting scholar for one year starting January 2024.
Professor Karabag currently works in the Department of Geography Education at Gazi University located in Ankara, Turkey. His research specializes in the areas of globalization, disasters, and local and global risks. His work aims to advance sustainability efforts and enhance systemic and vital risk management. As an accomplished researcher, Professor Karabag has significantly contributed to over 40 academic publications. In addition to his academic contributions, he also has extensive regional experience in Turkiye and Azerbaijan where he engaged in policy advice for public officials and decision makers on disaster risk management.
At the Dahdaleh Institute, Professor Karabag will be working alongside faculty fellow Idil Boran, to conduct research on the geopolitical risks and adaptations to transboundary climate extremes. During his time, he hopes to continue furthering the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
